Two Sisters
(Dwie Siostry) with film director Łukasz Karwowski

WEDNESDAY, March 5th at 4:05 PM
E Street Cinema Washington, DC

Two estranged half-sisters, long at odds, embark on a journey to Ukraine to rescue their gravely injured father. Along the way, they are confronted with a war-torn landscape filled with bombed-out homes and charred tanks. Near Kharkiv, they unknowingly cross the front line and find themselves in a region occupied by Russian forces.

Initially, the most intense struggle lies between the sisters, but as their surroundings shift, so too does their focus. The harsh realities of war begin to shape their journey, influencing each encounter they face as they move closer to a father they barely know. Paradoxically, the nearer they get to him, the more

they discover about themselves and each other—and the more overwhelming the impact of the war becomes.
