Patronage and Jury
The WPFF is proud to announce that an Oscar-nominated filmmaker, Agnieszka Holland, the director of the recent important film Green Border, has agreed to be the honorary patron of our Festival. Also, the Festival is a juried competition, which means that both feature films and short films compete for prizes such as best film, best director, best actor, and best actress. Leading the jury this year will be the Oscar-nominated director of Boże Ciało (Corpus Christie), Jan Komasa.
Films and meetings
The first edition of the WPFF will show 8 feature films and 8 shorts from May 10 – May 12 at the E Street Cinema, only 2 blocks from Metro Center, in DC's Penn Quarter. All the films will be in Polish with subtitles in English. But perhaps most exciting, there will also be some of the films' stars or directors present to discuss the films and meet with our audience. This is an event you don't want to miss.
