Wet Monday (Lany Poniedziałek)
The transition from childhood to adulthood is always challenging for young women, both physically and emotionally, particularly in a world where sexuality remains poorly understood and where boys and men often evade responsibility for their actions. When fifteen-year-old Klara faces an unexpected trauma, she grapples with how to regain her lost faith in the future. This loss of innocence often equates to a loss of invulnerability and wholeness. In the film, it is a group of unlikely friends, whose surprising empathy—enhanced by the rich traditions of Polish Easter celebrations—ultimately helps restore her. While there is a sense of something magical unfolding, the inherent strength of youth provides a grounded resilience that is both comforting and empowering.
