War and politics can tear apart countries, and even split apart families. But love relationships may have even more destructive power. When the beautiful Bronka is forced to marry the older brother of a powerful highland family, the younger brother furiously goes his own way. And suddenly the war arrives, bringing the Nazis with their mad ideologies, Faustian promises, and brutal behavior. As the family finds itself struggling both within itself and on opposite sides in the war, the story plays out in a remarkable crescendo that will determine not only the family’s fate, but also the fate of the entire region.

The film brings together many of Poland’s best actors including Jackub Gierszał, Sandra Drzymalska, Filip Pławiak, and Wiktoria Gorodecka, in a truly brilliant ensemble.

The film has just received several nominations to the prestigious Polish film industry award "Orły" in several categories!
