As part of the KF Washington DC Polish Film Festival, we warmly invite you to a special screening of Home Sweet Home (Dom dobry) on Sunday, March 22, at 2:45 PM, followed by a post-film panel discussion at 4:45 PM.

Home Sweet Home (2025), directed by Wojciech Smarzowski and starring Agata Turkot and Tomasz Schuchardt, is an unflinching drama about domestic abuse hidden behind the façade of romantic love. What begins as a seemingly fairy-tale relationship gradually turns into a cycle of manipulation and violence, as a shared home becomes a place of fear.

With his trademark stark realism, Smarzowski exposes the mechanisms of control, silence, and social indifference that trap victims behind closed doors. Both intimate and socially charged, the film confronts uncomfortable truths about power, responsibility, and complicity.

A major box-office success in Poland, Home Sweet Home sparked widespread public debate and remains one of the year’s most talked-about films.

The screening will be followed by a special panel discussion featuring lead actress Agata Turkot and invited experts, who will reflect on the film and the broader social issues it raises.

The other panel guests include:

Moderator: Joanna Campfield
