Lights! Awards! Action! The 3rd Kosciuszko Foundation Polish Film Festival Shines in Washington, DC

The third edition of The Kosciuszko Foundation Washington DC Polish Film Festival concluded on a high note, with the jury announcing the winners of an event praised by audiences and guests as a world-class cinematic celebration.
This year’s jury, chaired by actress Liliana Komorowska awarded the prizes in the following order. The award for Best Feature Film went to Altar Boys, directed by Piotr Domalewski. The Best Short Film award was presented to I Gave at the Sky. The Best Actress award went to Agata Turkot for Home Sweet Home. In the Best Actor category, the jury awarded an ex aequo prize to Tobiasz Wajda for Altar Boys and Filip Wiłkomirski for Brother. The Best Director award was presented to Agnieszka Holland for Franz.
The Audience Award for Best Feature Film was given to Altar Boys, while the Audience Award for Best Short Film went to I Gave at the Sky. This year, the jury also granted a Special Award to Michal Sobociński for cinematography for the film Chopin, Chopin.
Congratulations to all the winners, and sincere thanks to our special guests—Dagmara Dominczyk (The recipient of the 2026 Kosciuszko Foundation Pioneer Award), Patrick Wilson, Agata Turkot, Piotr Domalewski, and Michał Sobocinski - as well as to our wonderful audience, whose enthusiasm allows the festival to grow year after year with such success.
We are equally grateful to our volunteers, the festival’s board of directors, and everyone involved in making this event a true celebration of Polish cinema in the nation’s capital.
