The 2026 Film Line-Up has Arrived! Honoring Bold Storytelling and Artistic Vision

The 2026 KF Polish Film Festival Film Line-Up Is Here!
The Kosciuszko Foundation’s 3rd Annual Polish Film Festival returns to town March 19–22, 2026, lighting up the screen at Bethesda Row Cinema with the boldest voices and most talked-about films from contemporary Polish cinema—fresh from the Gdynia Film Festival.
This year’s feature film lineup spans history, literature, family drama, and pulse-pounding entertainment. Audiences can expect a visually lush journey into the life of a musical genius with Chopin, Chopin!, a gripping dive into political intrigue in Operation Pope (Zamach na Papieża), and an intimate portrait of one of literature’s most enigmatic figures in Franz, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Agnieszka Holland.
The program also brings sharp humor and emotional depth with The Altar Boys (Ministranci), a witty coming-of-age story, and Bother (Brat), a powerful exploration of brotherhood and family pushed to the brink.
Fans of Polish cinema will be thrilled by Vinci 2, the high-energy sequel to Juliusz Machulski’s beloved art-heist hit, while Home Sweet Home (Dom Dobry) delivers an intense, thought-provoking drama that shocked audiences across Poland, and finaly a The Great Warsaw Race (Wielka Warszawska), a dynamic story of a young jockey chasing his dreams against all odds, set against the backdrop of Poland’s dramatic transition from Communist rule to a free-market society.
All films will be screened with English subtitles, and many showings will include Q&As with directors and special guests, offering rare behind-the-scenes insight into Poland’s dynamic film scene.
The festival opens Thursday, March 19, with a Gala Reception at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in Washington, DC.
The evening will honor Dagmara Domińczyk with the 2026 Kosciuszko Foundation Pioneer Award, recognizing her role in bridging Polish and American storytelling. Domińczyk is widely known for her standout performance in HBO’s Succession.
