We are trilled to welcome and host Festival special guest from both Polish and international film world at the Festival. They will meet with the audience, take questions, and give you an insight into their work.

Meet Our Festival Guests


Ellen Kuras – Acclaimed Hollywood cinematographer and director of Lee, starring Kate Winslet, will be joining us for an exclusive conversation! With Polish roots, Ellen is one of the few female cinematographers in Hollywood and a proud recipient of the Kosciuszko Foundation Pioneer Award. She’ll be flying to Washington, D.C. directly from the Oscars to engage with the audience on March 4, 5, and 6 at Landmark’s E Street Cinema. Don’t miss the opportunity to hear from one of the industry’s most influential figures!



Gabriela Muskała – A leading Polish actress, screenwriter, and director, Gabriela has earned numerous prestigious awards and accolades throughout her career. At the Polish Film Festival in Washington, she will showcase her directorial debut, Jesters (Błazny), for which she also penned the screenplay. This film has earned her a fifth nomination for the Polish Orzeł Awards, this time in the "Discovery of the Year" category for Best Director. After the screening of Jesters at E Street Cinema, Gabriela will be joined by celebrated actor and musician Zbigniew Zamachowski, who composed the film’s score. Both guests will be available for a Q&A session with the audience.



Focus on Ukraine Day at the KF Polish Film Festival – Join us on Wednesday, March 5th at E Street Cinema for a day dedicated to Ukrainian cinema, featuring three very special guests:


  • Łukasz Karwowski, director of Two Sisters, will be present at the 4:05 PM screening and will participate in a Q&A session afterward.


  • Following Two Sisters, the film People will be shown at 6:15 PM. After the screening, guests are invited to stay for refreshments and a post-film discussion with Władysław Deva, 1st Assistant Director of People, and Artur Zaborski, Executive Producer of the film. Ambassadors from Poland and Ukraine, as well as representatives from the European Parliament delegation in Washington, D.C., will also share their remarks.


White Courage (Biała Odwaga) – One of the most acclaimed Polish films of the year, White Courage is a powerful tale of love, loyalty, and survival. The film has recently received 15 nominations for the Polish Orzeł Awards, the highest honor in the Polish film industry! Don’t miss the chance to see it on Thursday, March 6th at 7:30 PM at Landmark’s E Street Cinema (555 11th St NW, Washington, DC).

After the screening, the film’s director, Marcin Koszałka, will be in attendance for a Q&A session with the audience.
